Ngarang-Wal - Guanaba Indigenous Protected Area

We are the invasive weed managers of the 200 acre World Heritage listed gallery rainforest along Guanaba Creek. The property has a strong presence of rare and threatened species and high conservation values. We have also contributed to identifying new rare species such as the Spiny Gardenia (Randia moorei) which is listed Endangered. The works completed include weed control using assisted regeneration techniques and revegetation for erosion control. We have also participated in various volunteer planting days to assist with delivering measurable grant outcomes.

City of Gold Coast - Land for Wildlife

We are engaged with projects in Currumbin Valley and Luscombe on the Albert River restoring private properties with endangered ecological communities and significant conservation values. Works have included treating some of the most difficult to manage weeds including Madeira Vine (Anredera cordifolia) and Arrowhead Vine (Syngonium podophyllum) These projects require managing and controlling the key threatening processes that are impacting the rare species and regional ecosystems.

Scenic Rim Regional Council

We manage weeds around various natural areas at Tamborine Mountain and Beechmont. Work includes mainly hand weeding planting areas and maintaining aesthetics of parks, amenities and natural assets. We are also restoring some important remnant rainforest. We have identified new Vulnerable species populations on some project sites including a Native Oxtongue (PIcris conzyoides) and MIssionary Nutgrass (Cyperus semifertilis).

Tweed Shire Council - private properties

We are licenced to work in critical habitat Low-land Rainforest and have worked for two private landowners through Tweed Shire Council. The works included treating highly invasive Monkey’s Comb (Pithecoctenium crucigerum). We exceeded expectations by bringing on dynamic management techniques, identifying significant flora discoveries including protecting large specimens of Coolamon (Syzygium moorei) and bringing skilled volunteers to contribute to the significant projects. These projects require on-going management and control of the key threatening processes that are impacting the rare species and regional ecosystem.

Healthy Land and Water - The Shelf Rd, Tamborine Mountain

We delivered this significant erosion mitigation project in the head water catchment of Guanaba Creek. The project included installing 3,800 plants for framework reconstruction and stream bank stability. A large area of intense weed infestation were restored during this project.
